2023 SWPTA Conference was the highlight of my year.

Attending the SWPTA 2023 Annual Conference has undoubtedly been a highlight of my year. I had the privilege of meeting outstanding and motivating individuals, delving into the latest technology in the field, and gaining a deeper understanding of how parking and transit play integral roles in our daily lives.

This year's conference was exceptional as it featured a Keynote speaker for the first time, Tracy Miller. Tracy delivered a powerful speech, imparting valuable lessons in leadership that I believe can benefit anyone. Tracy emphasized the importance of being curious, rather than judgmental, and highlighted that active listening is a skill we should cultivate. Additionally, she underscored the exemplary leadership qualities displayed by Ted Lasso, everyone should watch this show!

I personally found great value in the "Municipal Parking Perspective" session. As a Customer Service Supervisor for ASU's Downtown Phoenix campus, this session provided me with insights into how other professionals address homelessness and the challenges of limited parking. It has given me fresh ideas and the enthusiasm to share them with my team.

I was able to attend this conference in part to the Warren Reynolds scholarship program. I want to say thank you to Yael Oved and the SWPTA committee for making this opportunity possible. I hope to attend the conference next year and reconnect with familiar faces.
