A Note from SWPTA President, Peter Macdonald

As the Southwest Parking & Transportation Association (SWPTA) celebrates a major milestone in 2026, the occasion brings with it innovative ideas and fresh energy. This year marks a quarter century of collaboration, learning, and networking. It’s a testament to what SWPTA has always been: more than just a professional association, but a true community.

At its core, SWPTA has always been about connection. It’s about people who care about this industry coming together to share ideas, solve problems, and support each other. Over the past 25 years, we’ve seen that spirit carry us from a handful of professionals to a nationwide community of parking, mobility, and transportation leaders, and we’ve never lost that sense of belonging along the way.

What makes SWPTA unique isn’t just what we do. It’s who we are. Our members bring a wide range of perspectives, from public agencies and universities to private operators and vendors, but there’s a common thread: a willingness to show up, share openly, and lift each other up. That’s the #SWPTAtastic energy we all know and appreciate.

This milestone belongs to all of you, our volunteers, board members, sponsors, and members who have given your time, ideas, and passion to keep this organization moving forward. You’re the reason SWPTA continues to thrive.

As we look ahead, there’s a lot to be excited about. As the industry evolves, we will too, but the importance of staying connected and learning from one another will always be at the heart of what we do.
